"Jeremy" [6]

A forensic argument of guilt is thrown into the audience's face as Pearl Jam enters their second stanza of thier song "Jeremy". "I clearly remember picking on the boy. Seemed a harmless little [inset various explatives here], ooh but we unleashed a lion...he hit me with a surprise...jaw left...dropped oped wide." The singer is portraying his memories of this boy, Jeremy, who seemed completly harmless but turned and unleashed his pent up anger and frustrationsd from being picked on and rejected. The singer is blaming himself for unleashing this "lion" from the boy which in turn lead to his demise at the end of the video.
In a way Pearl Jam's singer is also blaming the parents of Jeremy for his behavior. Since "Daddy didn't give attention...mommy didn't care." also since "daddy didn't give affection and the boy was something mommy wouldn't wear." the lead singer is pushing more of the blame onto the parents. He's leading to how Jeremy's parents didn't care about him enough to see how tormented e really was.
In the begining, Jeremy was evaluated in a way that made him seem like a mass murderer due to his parent's treatment. Jeremy was also made to be like he was the ruler of his own little world as "King Jeremy the wicked." This gave an insite to Jeremy's mind and was building the audiences' perception of Jeremy so they would be left bewildered at the end of both the song and video. So what do you think? was Jeremy posessed enough by his own world to have killed his classmates AND himself? Or was it just one or the other?
